Acetabulum fractures require methodological approach both in understanding the fracture and also in planning the management. Radiographic classification system has to be interpreted correctly and fracture patterns require to be identified without ambiguity. Important radiological parameters need to be kept in mind in planning the surgical approach and type of fixation. All these require a relatively long learning curve; however important points should be kept in mind while dealing with acetabular fractures. The current article is compilation of experience gathered over a period of time. The entire article emphasizes on the basics of understanding and managing acetabular fractures and also includes important tips and tricks that facilitate the treatment.
